Naturopathic Medicine

My mission as a Naturopathic Physician is to empower patients through education. This means taking the time to listen and truly hear your health concerns so we can work together to create the best, evidence-based treatment plan for your individual needs (this same mission translates to my work as a cosmetic injection provider). I will always take the time to hear your concerns and explain all of your treatment options so you can make the best decision for you. After returning to my practice from maternity leave (I’m a mom of twin toddlers), my practice has shifted to be fertility-focused.

I have a strong passion for helping women who want to prepare for a healthy pregnancy or are seeking fertility treatments.Through botanical medicine, lifestyle counselling, diagnostic testing and pharmaceutical medication, we will work together to create a treatment plan that address your concerns. I am currently accepting new patients, offering virtual care across British Columbia.

tools to support you

lifestyle counselling

Lifestyle has a tremendous impact on health and wellness. Together, we will investigate the aspects of your life that may be harmful to your state of health. This includes nutrition, activity levels, stress and mental/emotional health. She will guide and motivate you to make sustainable lifestyle changes that help you achieve your goals and put you on the path to optimal health.

How can lifestyle counselling help you?

Lifestyle counselling can help you achieve and sustain your weight loss goals, improve well-being in chronic disease and promote long term health maintenance.

diagnostic testing

In order to get to the root cause of your health concerns, I will utilize extensive diagnostic testing to accurately diagnose and assess body function. I can also work with your medical doctor to obtain records of past blood tests and diagnostic imaging that may aid in your diagnostic work up.

The following list includes some of the more common diagnostic tests used:
  • Cyclical hormones: Estradiol, AMH, Testosterone, DHEA-D, Protactin, LH/FSH, progesterone
  • Thryoid hormones: TSH, free T3, free T4, Anti TPO, Anti-TG antibodies
  • Nutritional and inflammatory: Vitamin D, Ferritin, B12, Homocysteine, CRP

botanical medicine

Botanical medicine is an ancient method of healing that uses herbs to treat illness. I use an evidence informed approach to botanicals and can help identify any potential herb-drug interactions.

How can botanical medicine help you?

Scientific evidence is now showing the value of herbal medicine in the treatment and prevention of disease. It can be particularly useful in the treatment of the following conditions:

  • menopause and PMS

  • anxiety and depression.

  • pain management

  • IBS and heart burn

prescriptive authority

As a Naturopathic Doctor practicing in British Columbia, I am authorized by legislation to prescribe medication. To obtain this authority, I completed the prescriptive authority course, successfully passed the licensing examination, and diligently maintain my prescriptive authority through Continuing Education requirements. In British Columbia, Naturopathic Doctors are recognized as Primary Care physicians, affording us a comprehensive scope of prescriptive authority.

the process

Ready to work together?

Here’s what to expect.

step 1: discovery call

The very first step of working together is connecting for a chat. During your complimentary 15-minute discovery call, we will briefly discuss your health, your goals and ensure alignment for your personalized care.

step 2: intake visit

Our first official, virtual visit together will involve a detailed assessment of your current health, medical history and covering any other relevant information that will help me determine root cause of your health concerns. During this visit we will identify and discuss the necessary tests required for guiding your treatment.

step 3: diagnostics

It’s important that we establish baseline makers of health and we’ll do so using conventional and comprehensive testing, Together we will review your test results to uncover the root cause of your concerns and use diagnostics to guide next steps.

One of the big benefits of working one-on-one with a Naturopathic Physician is that it removes the guesswork and prevents your results from getting lost in the system. Along with examining past labs, we will review your new tests together to ensure your total understanding. This will prepare us to start the next step…

step 4: implementing your treatment plan

With your labs reviewed and identification of areas of improvement, we will create a treatment plan that grows with you. This means we will frequently reassess and there may be phases of your treatment plan.

Your treatment plan may involve a combination of therapeutic interventions including everything from nutrition and lifestyle counselling to supplementation and botanical medicine.

step 5: monitoring + maintenance

As we progress through your treatment plan, we will have regular follow-ups to ensure you are progressing towards your goals. We may make minor adjustments, including preventative considerations. When you’re a patient of mine, I am always one email or call away. Please consider me your partner in health, not just during the body of treatments, but for the years to come.
