As your cosmetic injector in Kelowna, Kamloops, and Vernon, it my responsibility is to present the information you need to make an informed decision while providing my professional opinion based on my education and background, both as a Naturopathic Doctor and injector. So, let’s break down four of the most common cosmetic injections in Kelowna, Kamloops and Vernon, their benefits, their cost and who should consider them.
Neuromodulators (Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, and Nuceiva™) in Kelowna, Kamloops and Vernon
What are neuromodulators?
Neuromodulators, commonly referred to as botox, are arguably the most popular cosmetic injection treatments in Kelowna, Kamloops and Vernon, BC. It’s a neuromodulator made from botulinum toxin that temporarily relaxes the facial muscles responsible for creating fine lines and wrinkles.
How does botox actually work?
Botox works by blocking nerve signals to the targeted muscles, causing them to relax. With less muscle movement, the skin above smooths out, reducing the appearance of wrinkles. The results aren’t immediate, but you’ll usually start seeing improvements within a few days, with full effects appearing around a week. Botox generally lasts between three and four months, depending on the individual and the area treated.

Am I a good candidate for Neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport etc)?
Botox is perfect for my Kamloops, Kelowna, and Vernon patients who want to address dynamic wrinkles—those caused by facial expressions and not static. Botox is used to help my patients in Kamloops, Kelowna, and Vernon smooth out wrinkles on the forehead, around the eyes (crow’s feet), and between the brows (frown lines).
Botox isn’t just for cosmetic enhancements—it also has a range of therapeutic properties. Beyond its ability to smooth wrinkles and fine lines, botulinum toxin is used to treat various medical conditions, such as chronic migraines, muscle spasms, excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), and certain types of bladder dysfunction. Its versatility makes it a valuable tool in both aesthetic and medical practices, offering patients a variety of benefits beyond what many might expect.
How much does botox cost in Kelowna, Kamloops, and Vernon?
One of the first questions I get asked is about cost. Botox in Kelowna, Kamloops, and Vernon typically ranges between $9–$14 per unit. The number of units each patient requires is unique and will vary based on the muscle size, muscle strength, and other factors. As part of your built-in consultation (which is standard for any treatment with me), we will discuss how many units are recommended for your treatment. That being said, here is a general guideline of number of units per area to help you better plan for your next treatment:
Chin: 2-6 units
Lip flip: 4-6 units
Crow’s feet: 5-15 units
Eyebrow lift: 2-5 units
Forehead lines: 10-30 units
Frown lines: 10-25 units
Jaw (Masseter): 15-50 units/per side
Neck (Platysmal) bands: 25-50 units
Who shouldn’t get botox?
While botox is safe for most adults, it’s not suitable for everyone. If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, we will need to put your botox injections on pause. Individuals with neurological conditions should also steer clear of botox. Additionally, if you have active infections or inflammation near the injection site, you’ll need to wait until it’s healed before receiving this cosmetic injection.
What are the side effects of botox?
Safety is my top priority. Botox is generally very safe, but as with any medical treatment, there are potential side effects. Some patients might notice mild redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site—these usually go away within a few days. My training as a Naturopathic Doctor allows me to carefully evaluate each patient and ensure that treatments are delivered with precision and care to minimize risks and maximize your results.

How long do botox results last, and how often do I need treatments?
One of the things I love about botox is how quickly you see results. Most patients notice changes within a few days to a week, with the best results appearing around two weeks post-treatment. The effects usually last about 3–4 months, depending on factors like your metabolism and the treatment area. To keep your results looking fresh, I recommend scheduling regular follow-up appointments. Together, we’ll develop a plan that fits your needs and goals.
Dermal Fillers in Kelowna, Kamloops and Vernon
What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers (I personally trust and use Revanesse®) are cosmetic injections designed to restore lost volume, fill in deep wrinkles, and enhance facial features. Unlike botox, which targets muscle activity, fillers are all about adding volume where it’s been lost over time. They’re great for areas like the cheeks, under-eye hollows, lips, and nasolabial folds (the lines running from your nose to the corners of your mouth).
How do dermal fillers work?
Fillers are typically made of hyaluronic acid, a substance that’s naturally found in your skin and helps it retain moisture. When injected, fillers add volume beneath the skin, smoothing out wrinkles and restoring a youthful plumpness. The results are immediate, and depending on the type of filler used, they can last anywhere from six months to two years.

Dermal fillers are ideal for my patients in Kamloops, Kelowna, and Vernon who are looking to restore volume to areas that have lost it over time, such as the cheeks, temples, or under-eye area. If you want to enhance features like your lips or chin, these cosmetic injections can provide subtle definition and a more youthful, balanced look.

Who should avoid dermal fillers?
Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid dermal fillers, as the safety of certain filler ingredients during pregnancy hasn’t been fully studied. Additionally, if you have a history of severe allergies or allergic reactions to the ingredients in fillers, we might determine during your consultation that this cosmetic injection isn’t right for you. Those with active skin infections or inflammation at the injection site should wait until the area has healed before getting treated.

Sculptra® in Kelowna, Kamloops and Vernon
What is Sculptra®?
Sculptra® is a biostimulator available in Kelowna, Kamloops, and Vernon that works by stimulating your body’s natural collagen production. Unlike traditional dermal fillers that provide immediate volume, Sculptra® gradually restores elasticity and firmness in areas of the face that have lost structure over time. Made from poly-L-lactic acid, this treatment delivers natural-looking results that improve progressively, making it a unique and effective option for facial rejuvenation.
How does Sculptra® work?
As a biostimulator, Sculptra® is injected into the deeper layers of the skin, where it encourages collagen production—the protein responsible for skin’s structure and firmness. Unlike botox or fillers that provide instant results, Sculptra® works over a series of treatments, typically two to three sessions spaced a few weeks apart. Patients in Kelowna, Kamloops, and Vernon can expect long-lasting improvements, with results that develop gradually and can last up to five years as the collagen-building process continues.

Skinboosters™ in Kelowna, Kamloops and Vernon
What are Skinboosters™?
Skinboosters™ are ideal for patients seeking subtle yet effective skin rejuvenation without altering their natural facial structure. In my practice, I use Restylane® Skinboosters™ to enhance hydration, elasticity, and skin composition. Unlike traditional dermal fillers that focus on adding volume, Skinboosters™ work beneath the skin’s surface to restore its natural composition, leaving it refreshed and radiant.
How do Skinboosters™ work?
As we age, our bodies lose about 1% of hyaluronic acid annually from age 28, leading to drier skin and visible signs of aging. Skinboosters™ use stabilized hyaluronic acid delivered through micro-injections to replenish lost hydration and improve elasticity. This stabilized form resists natural degradation, offering sustained hydration and long-lasting improvements to your skin’s texture. You’ll notice smoother, plumper, and more youthful-looking skin after a series of treatments.
How often do you need Skinboosters™?
Most patients benefit from an initial series of two to three treatments spaced about four weeks apart. For ongoing results, maintenance treatments are recommended every six to twelve months. I’ll customize a treatment plan based on your skin’s needs and your long-term goals during your consultation.
How much do Skinboosters™ cost in Kelowna, Kamloops, and Vernon?
The cost of Skinboosters™ treatments varies depending on the treatment area and the number of sessions required. On average, the price ranges from $600 to $700 per session. During your consultation, I’ll provide a clear and tailored estimate to ensure you feel confident in your investment.
Who are Skinboosters™ best for?
Skinboosters™ are perfect for individuals looking to rejuvenate their skin while maintaining a natural appearance. They’re particularly effective for treating dry, dull skin or improving the texture of the face, neck, décolletage, and hands. If you’re seeking to enhance your skin’s health and glow without significant volume changes, Skinboosters™ are an excellent choice.
Who should avoid Skinboosters™?
Skinboosters™ are safe for most patients, but there are exceptions. Pregnant or breastfeeding women, individuals with severe allergies to hyaluronic acid, or those with active skin infections should avoid treatment. If you’re considering Skinboosters™ in Kelowna, Kamloops, or Vernon, I’ll ensure this treatment aligns with your needs during your consultation.
